7 Ideas for Recycling Jack Daniels Bottles

Many people find drinking alcohol as an enjoyable activity. Most of them even love it so much that they end up collecting the beautiful bottles of liquor—despite their contents being already emptied into their glasses. To these people, displaying all these bottles on their liquor cabinet is something they can be proud of.

If you’ve seen one of their cabinets, you would realize that one of the most prominent bottles they have on display is the bottle of Jack Daniel’s. In the Philippines, this drink is considered as one of the most palatable whiskey you could drink, which explains why it is quite well-known.

But what exactly can you do if you have too much of these bottles lying around? Do you just get rid of them? Or do you contact your local junk shop so they can take them away from you?

Here’s a suggestion: recycle them. There is a ton of things you can create from a Jack Daniel’s bottle; you just have to let your imagination run with it. You can even turn them into a not-so-regular house objects that you can decorate around your home.

(Disclaimer: Most of these will involve cutting the bottle. So, work in caution. Also, make sure to rub sandpaper on the part where you cut it to avoid getting yourself hurt)

By cutting the bottom of the Jack Daniel’s bottle, you can install a light fixture inside and pull the cord through the mouth of the bottle. It’s advised that you put a knot inside the bottle to relieve the pressure from the light fixture itself and transfer it onto the more sturdy cord.

You can now plug the cord and see how wonderful having your favorite drink’s bottle illuminate your room! Also, you may choose to keep the label or just simply remove it.

You can do this by preparing all the necessary objects used to make wax. Then, you can cut the Jack Daniel’s bottle just above the label, then pour the wax mixture in. The next step you must do is place the wick in the center and wait until the whole thing dries up. This will, then, serve as your candle container. That’s not even the best part about this, the best part is after you’ve used up the wax; you can just clean the bottle and use it for some other purpose!

Tiki Torch

This is rather easy to make. First, you must empty the Jack Daniel’s bottle (the fun part) and clean the residue. Second, you can put in citronella or paraffin oil inside. Third, find a metal cap that you can modify to fit in the mouth of the Jack Daniel’s bottle – don’t use the original cap of the bottle because it will definitely melt. Fourth, drill a hole on top of the cap and put in a wick that reaches the bottom of the bottle. Fifth, light the wick and enjoy your Jack Daniel’s tiki torch!

Bird Feeder

Turning your Jack Daniel’s bottle into a bird feeder will certainly attract more birds in your garden. For this project, you won’t be doing any modification to the bottle itself, but you do need to make a container for the bottle that will serve as the object where the bird food accumulates. Now, the next process is a little bit complicated, so here’s a step-by-step instructions on how to do this:

  • Get a wood that is longer than a Jack Daniel’s bottle. Then, affix a border for your bottle that is a little smaller than the bottle (this is being done so your bottle won’t fall off).
  • Hang the bottle upside down and install a container for the bird food that is directly below the mouth of the bottle. Remember: if you install the container a little lower than the mouth, the bird food will just continue to fall off from the bottle.
  • Fill the Jack Daniel’s bottle with bird food then put it through the border.
  • Once you are ready for a refill, you can do it by just pulling up the Jack Daniel’s bottle, and then put it down if there’s enough bird food in the container.

There’s no limit to what you can do if you have imagination and ingenuity! Just let your creative juices flow and you’ll make works of marvel. The projects stated above are only some of the things you can do with a Jack Daniel’s bottle.
